Warmest wishes and welcome to SJF Counselling, a private practice based in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, UK.
I am a fully qualified professional Counsellor and a member of the BACP (registration number 395535) committed to delivering a Person-Centred Counselling Approach (PCA) to individuals and couples (18+) who are coping with numerous challenges that life can bring.
The support I offer is either in person, online or telephone and aims to empower individuals to make informed decisions independently. I also work as a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Support.
I am patient, warm, open, empathic and discreet; having a calm, mature manner based on a good sense of consistent personal integrity and ethics.
I am sensitive and sympathetic to clients who struggle with feelings of being overwhelmed, vulnerable, anxious or lonely due to challenging or painful dilemmas in their lives.
I am a compassionate listener able to offer support on complex issues and to provide the space for clients to decide how to manage their own best interests.
This support is offered in a confidential, trusting and secure environment so that clients feel relaxed and confident to share personal feelings, thoughts or emotions about a personal challenge.
There are limits to the confidentiality I can offer due to legal obligations so please see my working agreement for more information.

In my work I have seen the positive and proactive outcomes achieved when clients feel supported and listened to in a safe, secure and private environment where they are able to share feelings, emotions and thoughts freely.
Fulfilment for the client is experienced when they no longer feel overwhelmed and have found the key to independently manage life situations for themselves.
I have extensive experience in working and building relationships with adult clients (18+) from diverse backgrounds, cultures and ages.
At all times, I work within policy and procedural frameworks regarding equal opportunities, child and adult protection, risk assessment, safeguarding, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and confidentiality.
